Plymouth, MN - Eugene "Gene" Lesser
Age 89, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed away on June 6, 2026.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Leora; his parents, Anthony and Nettie Lesser; his brother, Leander; and his sister, Marion. He is survived by his sons, Harvey, Roger (Lisa), and Dennis (Alicia); his daughter, Joan (Bill); 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Gene graduated from Belgrade High School in 1954 and proudly served three years in the United States Army. He married Leora in Lake Henry, Minnesota, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, hard work, and community.

Gene worked as a baker for Jerry's Foods and Cub Foods for 36 years before retiring in 1997. He took pride in his work and was known for his dedication and steady work ethic.

Family was at the heart of Gene's life. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to every baptism, birthday, holiday and milestone event he was able to attend. Those moments brought him great joy, and his presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed.

Gene was also a proud and active member of the Wayzata American Legion Post 118 for 51 years. He served as the Post historian for many years and was also involved with the honor guard. The Legion was an important part of his life, and he looked forward to his frequent meals there with family and friends.

Gene had one wish: to remain in his home. His children lovingly honored that request, allowing him to stay in the place he cherished. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary of the Lake in Plymouth, Minnesota, with the date to be determined.
