Esta Marie Stover Obituary

Excelsior, MN - Esta Marie Stover (nee Black) of Excelsior died peacefully on May 11, 2026 after a long endurance of Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her husband Sandy Stover; daughter Joan Van Camp (Joseph Van Camp) of Tonka Bay; daughter Mary Stover (Edward Herskovits) of California; sister Mary Anderson; brothers William and James Black; grandchildren Alexander (Shuangchao), David, Anna and Eric (Rachel); and great-granddaughter Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Virgina Black of Hershey, Pennsylvania.


Esta Marie, born in Hershey, earned a bachelors and graduate degrees in early childhood education at the University of Pittsburgh and Central Michigan University. She loved teaching and caring for children, both the young students she encountered throughout her career as an elementary school teacher, counselor and principal and the children in her family. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and volunteering.
