Lester Prairie, MN - Ellen Brovold, age 71, of Lester Prairie, passed away on May 30, 2026, with her daughter Christine by her side.

Ellen was born on October 21, 1954, to Anne (Hrubeniuk) Raginski and William Raginski. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Wayne Raginski and Alan Raginski. Ellen is survived by her sister, Joanne Raginski; her daughters, Marcy (Paul) Nolte and Christine (Phil) Schmalz; her grandchildren, Samuel and Sophia Nolte, and Hayley, Greta, and Paige Schmalz; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Those who knew Ellen knew that she wore her heart on her sleeve. She lived authentically, spoke her mind, and loved deeply. She had a generous spirit and would gladly give someone the shirt off her back. Ellen had a wonderful sense of humor, an endearing mischievous streak, and an infectious laugh. She was fiercely loyal, deeply caring, and protective of the people she loved. She loved good music, good company, and meaningful conversations.

In accordance with Ellen's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Her cremated remains will be scattered in Lake Superior, a place she loved.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
