Elizabeth "Penny" Smith, age 84, a devout Christian from Edina, MN/Naples, FL, peacefully returned to her husband and God on August 10, 2024.
The only child of Elizabeth and Carroll W. Griffith of Wilmington, DE, she attended Wilmington Friends School, a Quaker school from K-12. She graduated from Wheelock College, in Boston, MA, with a teacher's degree in early childhood education.
She loved children with a passion and shared that love at both Kids Time Out and Hugs and Hearts in Edina, MN.
Penny's favorite pastime was being a wife to her husband Kurt Smith of 45 years until his passing in 2020; and being a "Granny" to her grandchildren.
She felt that God gifted her with a wonderful life and was filled with gratitude for her many blessings.
She is survived by her three children; Kirt Mostrom (Margaret) of Naples, FL; Kristen McPhail (Andrew) of Fremantle, AU; and Douglas Mostrom (Kimberly) of Newark, DE; and her three stepchildren Hutch Smith, Liz Jones, and Cindy Hernandez; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 15th at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, Naples, Florida.
