Burnsville, MN - Eileen Marie Zimmerman (Pierre)

October 19, 1942 - October 29, 2025

Born in St. Paul, one of five children and the only daughter of Willard and Leona Pierre. She had a classic St. Paul upbringing, attending St. Andrews and Our Lady of Peace, where she made friends who she continued to have monthly lunches with for the next 65 years.

Eileen's adventures continued when she met and married John Zimmerman. They quickly filled their first home on Jefferson Avenue with memories and four children. The family moved to Virginia and Massachusetts and eventually back to Burnsville, MN.

Eileen spent most of her professional career at the Eagan Police Department, becoming a highly respected and long serving 911 dispatcher. True to Eileen's warm and loving nature, colleagues became friends and family.

She was quick to say yes to new experiences and adventures filling her life with family, friends and travel, to anywhere, any time. Her adventures included sailing, skydiving, parasailing, snorkeling and ziplining (including a short zipline ride right before her 83rd birthday).

Eileen had many talents, and she used her love of words and reading to record books on tape for State Services for the Blind for over 30 years. She did not shy from her competitive nature serving as commissioner for several fantasy football leagues, in her role as a ringer playing bar trivia and not backing down on family game nights.

She is survived by her children and their families, Michael (Catherine), Jordan (Bob), Kieley (David, Henry, Arthur), Cody (Lauren), Annika (Keller), Lynn (Karla) Bridget, Raymond, Griffin, Steve (Melisa) Mark (Brianna) Ryker, Grace, Willow, River, Levon (Jessica) Coral, Layla, Randelle, Jed, Henlee, Mariah (Obed) Everett, and Rhiannon.

Eileen is survived by her brothers Ken, Ron (Sharon) and Jim (Julie), sisters-in-law Rose, Mary (Denis) along with many relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brother Gene and in-laws Norm and Betty.

Eileen touched many hearts and souls during her journey here and we will be gathering on November 9, 2025, from 12:00-4:00 to celebrate her life.
