Donald Bruce Salisbury
Donald Bruce Salisbury Obituary
Mendota Hts - Salisbury, Donald Bruce 79, of Mendota Heights, passed away on July 9, 2025, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. Don was born in Minneapolis on April 21, 1946, to Willis D. Salisbury and Betty Foster Salisbury. He graduated from Colorado College in 1968 and was active in the anti-war movement throughout the 1960s and 1970s. For over 30 years, he owned and operated Knights Creek Nursery in Menomonie, Wisconsin, where he raised nursery stock and cultivated magnificent gardens. He was also active in Democratic politics in Dunn County and generously shared his gardening talents with local nonprofits. In 2019, Don and his wife, Mari Forbush, moved to Mendota Heights, MN where they beautified their home and nearby public spaces. Thoughtful voting advice on local and national candidates could always be found in their front yard. Don is survived by his wife, Mari Forbush; his sister, Gwen Myers; stepchildren Rafael Forbush (Gemma Forbush) and Luz Mayberg (Fernanda Coppel); grandchildren Mayim Forbush and Gabriel Mayberg Coppel; and many, many dear friends. Those wishing to honor Don's life are encouraged to make donations to Stepping Stones of Dunn County, the Menomonie Public Library Foundation, Neighborhood House in St. Paul, or a local organization of their choice.
