Mpls - 43, of Minneapolis, passed away December 27th, 2025. He was born August 21, 1982 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was a North Side native. He attended Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls, where he played collegiate football. He later obtained his Bachelor's in Education from Ashford University.

A retired veteran of the United States Army, Desmond served his country with distinction for 21 years, rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was married to Samantha (Dean) and they had one child, Desmond Jr.

Desmond enjoyed podcasting, creating YouTube movie reviews and most recently, created D. Jones Collection - a clothing line. He loved all things Minnesota with an affinity for the North Side. He religiously supported the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Gophers and gladly represented Minnesota everywhere he went. Desmond is survived by his wife, Samantha Jones, his children Desmond Jones, Jr. and Laila Harrison, his mother, Donna Jenkins, his father, Clifford Jones, and five siblings. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Eunice Jenkins, Great Grandmother Zola Waters, Great Aunt Shirley Waters and Cousin Simone Overton.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 16th at 11 am at Washburn-McReavy Crystal Lake Chapel, 3816 Penn Avenue N, Minneapolis, MN 55412. Viewing will take place from 10 am - 11 am.

Interment will occur Friday, January 30th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
