St. Anthony - Our amazing mother is at rest with the Lord. With love and remembrance, we announce the peaceful passing of Delores Estelle Ponessa on Friday, July 11, at the age of 96. Delores was born on January 2, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN to Clarence and Elsie Borman. She loved sewing, traveling, and playing card games, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores is survived by her 6 children, Nancy Ponessa, Paula (Joe) Eckel, Angela (Phil) Filer, Russ (Lisa) Ponessa, Lisa (Dave) Baker, Teresa (Patrick Morrison) Ponessa, her 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her best friend, Dorothy Pavelka. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Ponessa, her parents and 6 siblings. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 4030 Jackson St. NE, Columbia Heights, MN. Visitation one hour prior. Luncheon following service. Private Interment at Fort Snelling.
