Edina - 62, passed away on September 21, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1963, to Orlin Hilbert and Marilyn Constance Tangren in Jamestown, ND, and spent most of his life in Minnesota.
Dean was a brilliant and capable entrepreneur who built a thriving company through hard work and creativity. Engineering and design came naturally to him, and he approached every challenge with ingenuity. He had a deep love of culture and adventure, traveling to more than twenty countries throughout his life, and he was still planning future trips with friends in his final months.
Above all, Dean dearly loved his children and grandchildren—they were the light of his life.
Dean is survived by his parents; his four siblings, Daniel Orlin (Linda) Tangren, Dwight Craig Tangren, Diane Marie Tack, Denise Adair (Mike) Koch; his children, Eric Glendon Tangren, Brian Thomas Tangren, Emily Jean (Seth) Trotter, and Franklin Scott Tangren; and his two grandchildren, Penelope Dean Trotter and Signe Kai Trotter, and many nieces and nephews.
His legacy of innovation, generosity, and humor continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be laid to rest at 11:00 am, December 6th, 2025 at the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. All who loved him are welcome to attend.
