Albertville, MN - David 'Dave' Downing age 59, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Monday April 14, 2025. Dave was born July 12, 1965, in England to Alan and Catherine (Cathy) Downing and he was raised in London, Iowa and Minnesota.

Dave graduated from Armstrong Sr. High (Plymouth MN) in 1983 and was married for 27 years to his loving wife Kami. Time spent with his family and friends was very important to Dave, his great sense of humor, infectious smile and laugh always brought people together.

Dave's passion for fishing (including ice fishing) took him to both lakes and the ocean. Dave also developed a love for cooking, grilling and baking - which surprises some people. The fall harvest of vegetables and spices also made Dave smile. Traveling with family and friends took Dave to many places in the U.S. as well as Europe. Other passions that kept Dave happy were golf, cribbage, darts (Dave won several tournaments), bowling, Minnesota Twins, Vikings and of course his love for music.

He was preceded in death by his father Alan and survived by his wife Kami, mother Cathy, brother Andrew (Amy), sister-in-law Kelly (Mike), niece Melissa, nephews Michael and Max, many cousins in the UK and Iowa, extended special family Nick, Laurel, and Ciara (Justin), and special godmother Gillian Haston.

At Dave's request, there will be no formal service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations in Dave's name may be made to the following organizations:
