St. Louis Park, MN - Bell, Daniel "Dan" Francis, age 78 of St Louis Park, died on July 4, 2025 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Rusch. He is survived by their children Kevin (Reilly), Colleen, and Ryan, granddaughter Charlotte, and sister Maureen (David) Field. Dan was born in Rochester, NY and was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (BS Physics) and the University of Minnesota (MS Physics). He retired in 2005 after 32 years as an engineer at Honeywell. He was a dedicated volunteer, including at STEP food shelf, Urban Homeworks, and Rebuilding Together MN. Dan loved the outdoors, especially the Boundary Waters, and visited 45 National Parks in his lifetime. He was an incredibly devoted husband and father who will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held on August 3rd at the McNamara Alumni Center. Visitation: 1pm, program: 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Amyloidosis Research Consortium (arci.org).
