Meredith, Clyde Wilbur Jr. PhD age 95, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully January 3, 2024, with family at his side. Preceded in death by parents Carrie and Clyde W. Meredith Sr., two brothers and three sisters, daughter Carrie and son Steve. Survived by loving wife Jane; son Sonnie (Julie) Meredith; daughters Susie (Simon) Wang, Laura (Bryan) Jackson, Amy Meredith, Sharbyn (Uwe) Pleban; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. Clyde was an exceptional athlete, talented artist, and accomplished pianist who enjoyed entertaining. A beautiful tenor voice, he sang in church with his siblings and in choir both in college and after. He performed with the Generation Gap for many years. He played football, basketball, and ran track in HS and at Taylor University, earning athletic honors. In later years he stayed active playing volleyball, tennis, and golf. His volleyball team won a bronze medal in the World Senior Olympics. A nationally recognized leader, he was instrumental in creating the field of Career Change Management (Outplacement). He began his own successful Outplacement company, The Meredith Company of Minne-sota. He earned the first PhD in that field in 1982. As a Small Business of the Year Award winner, he worked with USA Today answering questions on career change issues. Always active in the community, he enjoyed volunteering with Bridging, Shriners, Habitat for Humanity, The Red Cross, delivering a Senior focused newspaper, and answering letters to Santa through the USPS. He was a member of Wooddale Church in MN, and First Presbyterian Bonita Springs in FL. Memorial Service February 8 at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie at 11:00 AM, reception to follow.
