Lakeville, MN - Dr. Clark LaChapelle, 90, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026.

Clark was known to so many in Burnsville as a wonderful dentist, but to those who truly knew him, he was so much more. His life's mission was simple and generous: to improve oral health for the people of Burnsville and to care for every patient with skill, kindness, and patience.

Clark's talents extended far beyond dentistry. He was a gifted sculptor who found beauty in shaping form from stone. Whether in his dental office or at his sculptor's table, his hands reflected precision, creativity, and care. He also believed deeply in service. As a proud Rotarian, he lived the Rotary ideal of "Service Above Self." His passion for helping others reached across oceans through his support of Books for Africa, helping children gain access to the gift of reading and learning.

Clark lived with a deep curiosity about the world. He traveled to many places across the globe, always eager to learn, explore, and experience new cultures. Yet, no matter how far he traveled, he found some of his greatest joy right at home—on the golf course, where he was an avid golfer who cherished the challenge and camaraderie of the game, and in his beloved garden in Lakeville, Minnesota, that he designed and built from scratch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67years, Vonnie LaChapelle, whose partnership and support were the foundation of his life. He leaves behind his daughters, Jennifer and Andrea, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Clark LaChapelle leaves behind more than memories—he leaves behind healthier smiles, works of art, gardens that bloomed under his care, and lives touched by his generosity and curiosity. His life reminds us that true success is measured not only by what we achieve, but by how we serve, how we create, and how we love. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in every life he touched, every smile he restored, and every seed he planted—both in the earth and in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be interred at Fort Snelling due to his military service.
