Edina, MN - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Claire Nagel Ready, age 92, who died peacefully on December 16, 2025.

Born on February 23, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Klara and George Nagel, Claire lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her husband, family and students. She married John (Jack) Fetch Ready on August 29, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Together, they had seven children and shared a passion for spending time with their family and friends, playing tennis, and travelling extensively. They also had many cherished moments at their cabin in Emily, Minnesota.

After raising her children, Claire devoted 25 years to teaching as an elementary school educator, retiring in 1998. Her warmth and commitment touched countless lives, both in her family and her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three of her children, Anne, Michael, and Christopher; siblings Herb and his wife Dolores, Rich and his wife Jean, and her sister Stella; her brother-in-law Ted and his wife Jean; and sister-in-law Antoinette.

Claire is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Jack; their children John, Mary, Betsy, and Steve; her brother-in-law Charlie and his wife Susan; as well as 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service has yet to be scheduled. We, her children, are grateful for Claire's strength and that she lived a long, full, and rewarding life. May she rest in peace.
