Pine River - Held by family and surrounded by her beloved artwork, books, photos and music. Claire Jones passed away peacefully at her Pine River, Minnesota, home on February 3, 2026. Claire was born March 6, 1932, in Accrington, England. During her childhood, she endured the hardships of World War II and, in 1947, sailed to Canada on the Aquitania. She later became a Canadian citizen, attended finishing school and worked at Canadian Westinghouse where she met her future husband, Selwyn, a Welsh Canadian. They were married in 1957, moved to the USA. Claire and Selwyn raised a family and, in 1995, became US Citizens. Claire retired from a career in Property Management and Real Estate in 2003, to care for her only love, Selwyn, who passed away in 2008. She volunteered at PROP in Eden Prairie, and in 2018, moved to her lake home, where she loved living in nature and continued to work and be an active member of her community. Survived by her children, Christine, Maureen (Mark), David, and Rebecca; grandchildren, Allyson, Brooke, Megan, Evan, Trevor, Adrien, and Calder; great-grandchildren, Scout, and Tinna; nephews, Michael, Glenn, and Jack; nieces, Anne, Lynn, and Sheila. Preceded in death by husband, Selwyn; parents, Andrew and Doris Banham; sisters, May, and Jeanne; brother, David; niece, Regan; and nephew, Bruce. A celebration of life will be held at Green Acres Barn in Eden Prairie, MN, on Friday, March 6. Visitation starts at 9 am, Memorial starts at 10 am.
