Richfield, MN - Christopher James Hawkey, 64, from Minneapolis, passed away from a brief but aggressive cancer battle.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, brother, and stepdaughter, all of whom he is now reunited with in heaven.

Chris shared 20 years of marriage with Mary. Even after divorce they remained close friends and continued to support one another throughout their lives.

He is lovingly survived by his four daughters: Melissa (Giancarlo) Canessa; Rachal (Tom) Mee; Jessica (Dan) Dalton; and Stephanie (Kevin) Black. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Chris served in the United States Army as a tank mechanic. He went on to work at Morrissey, Inc. as a laser operator for 30 years. He truly loved his job and took pride in his work, showing up each day with commitment and purpose. He had looked forward to retiring later this year.

He was a man of habit with an unmatched work ethic—reliable, dependable, and steady in all he did. Chris deeply valued family and was always there when it mattered most, caring for his siblings and his mother during times of illness.

Above all, Chris was an amazing dad and a loyal friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His legacy lives on through his family, the lives he touched, and the example he set every day.
