Mpls - Age 96, of Minneapolis, died April 12, 2026. She will be deeply missed by daughter, Barbara Shaterian; granddaughters, Bella Sathpathy-Horton (Raj) and Lillie Horton, as well as Larisa Shaterian. Christa grew up in Bochum, Germany, immigrating to the US in 1958. She received her Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and Master's and PhD. from Washington University. Christa was an associate professor of Germanic Studies at Indiana University at Ft. Wayne until 1996. In retirement, Christa moved to Minneapolis, teaching German, French, and Spanish at the Edina Community Center, swimming in Cedar Lake every summer, and filling her days with concerts, theater, and travel. She loved her daughter and granddaughters fiercely, tirelessly attending every one of their performances and recitals. A celebration of Christiane's life will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Family will receive friends following the service. Memorials are preferred to Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
