Wayzata, MN - February 28, 1958 - January 18, 2026

Charles Edward Pratt, age 67, passed away on January 18, 2026. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth, wisdom, and gentle humor touched the lives of many.

Born on February 28, 1958, Charlie grew up in Wayzata, Minnesota, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. He graduated from Wayzata High School as part of the Class of 1976. In his youth, Charlie spent two formative years living in England from 1968 to 1970—an experience that broadened his worldview and remained one of the most enriching chapters of his life.

Charlie went on to pursue higher education at the University of Minnesota, earning his master's degree from the Carlson School of Management. His professional career led him into executive leadership, where he was respected for his insight, integrity, and steady presence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charlie embraced life with energy and curiosity. He loved rock climbing and traveling, always seeking new experiences and adventures. A true lover of music, it was a constant source of joy and connection throughout his life. Wherever he went, Charlie had a way of lighting up a room—bringing warmth, laughter, and unmistakable energy to those around him.

He was known for his storytelling, thoughtful conversations, and his rare ability to make others feel truly seen and understood. His calm presence, generosity of spirit, and enduring kindness will be deeply missed.

Charles is survived by his children, Andrew (Alysen), Constance, & Davis (Randi); & his grandchildren, Bella, Farran, Charlie, Max, Edgar, Evelyn, Destiny, Dominick, and Dezja.; his mother Sheila McElligott Pratt; his sister Cynthia Clark and brother David.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Ransom Pratt.

A visitation will be held on January 24 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., and a reception at 12:00 p.m. Services will be held at Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Boulevard East, Wayzata, MN 55391.
