Carolyn Sue Taylor Obituary

Carolyn Sue (Landreth) Taylor was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 16, 1938, and passed away on March 9, 2025, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

She attended school in Tulsa and remained connected to her high school classmates throughout her life. She often sent hand-painted birthday cards to members of her class. Carolyn married Bobby Taylor, and each of their four daughters was born in a different state as they moved for his career. They ultimately landed in Memphis, Tennessee, where they divorced. Carolyn remained in Tennessee except for two periods in Minnesota, including the last five years of her life.

She is survived by her daughters: Julie Stovall, Janie Taylor (Andrew Rose), Susan Taylor (Jeff Iseminger), and Beth Huneycutt (Paul); nine grandchildren: Jason Lineberger, Benjamin Huneycutt (Stacie), Jenny Stovall, Zachary Woodside (Allie Thunstrom), Laurel Detkin (Daniel Burns), Rachel Taylor (Amy), Aaron Stovall, Jacob Detkin (Shannon McEntee), Taylor Woodside (Mac Gabler); and two great-grandchildren: Liam Woodside and Oliver Huneycutt. She was preceded in death by her father Mancil "Hank" Landreth, mother Velma (Potter) Evans, stepmother Vera (Doty) Landreth, brother James Landreth and five half-siblings: Patricia, Margaret Ann, Grant, Alan, and Butch.

Carolyn was creative and loved painting. Her home was always filled with her designs. She enjoyed art, music, movies, gardening, needlework, and baking.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to an organization serving mental health or the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, Minnesota. The family will hold a private celebration of life.
