Carol Rosenberg Sands Obituary

Minnetonka, MN - Carol Rosenberg Sands passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on June 11, 1942, in Buffalo, New York, Carol was the daughter of Philip and Beatrice Rosenberg and the beloved sister of Linda Hyman. She built a life centered on family, hard work, generosity, and quiet strength.

Carol attended Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio, where she met Ronald Sands, a student at nearby Miami University, on a blind date. They were married for nearly 59 years.

Along with their marriage, Carol and Ron forged an incredible bond as business partners for more than 40 years. With grit, determination, and a brave entrepreneurial spirit, they founded and ran their family-owned company in Indianapolis, Alpha Sales Corporation, where Carol was the business manager and bookkeeper and Ron was in charge of sales. Together as a team, and over several decades, they built not only a beloved business with employees who became family, but a life grounded in dedication, perseverance, and care for those around them.

Throughout her life, Carol formed deep and lasting friendships and memories, including cherished years in Cleveland, Ohio, where she loved her job as a fifth grade teacher, before spending most of her adult life in Indianapolis, Indiana. In retirement, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to be closer to her family, who were always the center of her world.

Carol is survived by son Michael and his wife Diana and their girls Lauren and Emily. She is also deeply missed by her daughter Margot and her husband Alexander and boys Joe, Zeke, and Ari. Ron, her husband of almost 60 years, whom she met when she was 18, passed away from pancreatic cancer in April 2021. Nothing brought Carol greater pride or joy than her children and grandchildren. She worked tirelessly and selflessly throughout her life and career to create opportunities for her family and to ensure their success and happiness.

Those who knew Carol will remember her as being happy with a book in her hand, but not necessarily for her cooking. Her years of hard work, diligence, sacrifice and dedication at Alpha Sales will always be an inspiration for her children and grandchildren. She was practical, caring, resilient, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. Her kindness and steady presence touched many lives, and her legacy lives on through the family she nurtured so completely.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in Carol's memory.

A private family memorial will take place at a later date.

Carol, aka Nana, will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
