Plymouth, MN - Carol Eyberg Pomroy of Plymouth, Minnesota and Alamo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the age of 99. Carol was born on November 7, 1926 in Hibbing, MN to Otto Edwin Eyberg and Tillie Lycander Eyberg. She grew up in Nashwauk, MN and graduated from Nashwauk High school where she was Valedictorian.

Carol attended Hibbing Junior College and in 1946 earned a Scholarship Cup. She went on to earn three degrees from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis: BS Magna Cum Laude in Library Science, 1948, BS Education 1957, and MA Educational Psychology 1963. She was employed as a librarian at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Minneapolis Public Library, and the Minneapolis Public Schools. From 1963 until her retirement, she served as a Guidance Counselor in the Minneapolis Public Schools at Franklin Junior High School, as well as Marshall, Washburn, and Edison Senior High Schools. Carol was very active professionally, serving on many local, state, and national committees and advisory boards. She served as President on the Minneapolis Counselors' Forum, the Minnesota School Guidance Counselors Association and the Minnesota Association of College Admissions Counselors. She was devoted to working with young people, encouraging and supporting their growth and development. Carol enjoyed travelling around the world, winters in south Texas, playing the piano, music, reading, cards, golf and time at the cabin in Northern Minnesota. She has been much loved by her family and friends, and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, James Pomroy (Lori), daughters Susan O'Dell (Loren), and Katherine Sollmann; 10 grandchildren, and many wonderful great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Lyon Pomroy, her son Robert Pomroy, and her longtime companion Robert Campbell.
