Carol Jean Hill-Kennedy Obituary

Mpls, MN - Carol Jean Hill-Kennedy, age 86, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born on December 21, 1938, in Cass Lake, Minnesota, and was a proud member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe.

Carol cherished jingle dress dancing at powwows, where she found joy, community, and connection.

She worked for many years at Honeywell and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, where she was known for her friendly spirit and creativity.

Carol was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and sang with the Nokomis Ward choir. Her faith shaped her life, and she shared her kindness with everyone around her.

Carol was preceded in death by her husbands, Vince Hill and George Kennedy; her siblings Richard Sherer, Charles Sherer, Fredrick Sherer, and Betty Alger; and her children Tena Olson, Mark Olson (Julie), Vincent Hill, and Joseph Hill.

She is survived by her siblings Russell Sherer (Patty), Kathryn Guimaraes, and Thelma Loveridge (Dale); her children Joanna Hill, Frederick Hill, and Rachel Hill; and her grandchildren Chanelle Gallagher (Kit Fordham), Selena Gallagher (John Daly), Maximilian Hill, Joseph Hill, Aiyana Hill, Jared Hill, Marissa Hill, Amiyah Pierce, and Bugwuji Hill

Carol will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and open heart. Her presence brightened the lives of many, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
