Gallagher, Caren Elise Fine Age 66, of Eagan. It is with great sorrow that we announce that Caren passed away early Saturday morning July 13, 2024. Born 12/16/1957. She fought her hardest the last two years to beat Endometrial Carcinosarcoma (Uterine cancer). Preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Julia Fine. Survived by husband, Steven Gallagher; brothers, Larry Fine (Elyse), Mark Fine (Janis); brother-in-Law, Jim Gallagher (Linda); sister-In-Law, Kathy Nelson (Terry); nieces, Elizabeth Fine (Jeff Ketterling), Liz Paulson (Todd), Laura Conroy (Chris), Kris Olsen (Dan), Stephanie Ausk; nephews Aaron Fine (Kate), and Josh Fine (Liz Litvak), Brent Nelson (Aimee); and most of all Super Mutt, Libby. Caren was an amazing wife, sister, friend, educator and advocate. She cherished her Jewish heritage. She grew up on the far Southeast side of Chicago and brought that Chicago passion and energy to all that she did in her life. Caren graduated from Mather High School. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Illinois and achieved her Masters from St Thomas in Houston, TX. She spent her first five years teaching 4th grade in inner city Houston, TX. The next 34 years were spent teaching Special Ed (LD/ED) at Osseo Senior High, Osseo, MN. Caren got married in 1992 to this unbelievable guy, Steve. They were married for 32 years. As an advocate for justice, women, human rights, and workers rights, - Caren shaped worlds. Because Caren cared, she truly had a life well lived. Caren took great interest in developing her oasis (backyard garden). She was a lover of golf and expert converter of Steve's original man cave (7 major remodels) to reflect her passion of style, whimsy, and comfort. The family would like to thank the medical staffs at Minnesota Oncology, Fairview Ridges, and Minnesota Hospice. Everyone was so kind and loving. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the following: American Cancer society, Minnesota Hospice, Animal Humane Society. A Celebration of Life will be Announced at a later date.
