Brian James Kleven Obituary

Brooklyn Park - Born August 14, 1965, in Montevideo, Minnesota passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, following a year-long illness. Brian will be missed by his loving wife Margo (Margaret Coughlin) and son Ian, who were by his side as he passed serenely into the next life. Brian grew up in Milan, MN, enjoying the seasonal rhythms of the family farm. After graduating from U of MN, Morris, he moved to Minneapolis, where he was a life-long employee of Ameriprise Financial. Brian spent his life investing in relationships. Family and friends were always in the forefront of his thoughts and actions. He was loving, caring and loyal. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the honor of knowing him.

Brian found joy in all things, especially being a Dad, date nights with Margo, Florida beaches, an authentic Guiness from Nolan's Pub, his flower gardens, his work at Haskell's, and his favorite furball, Manny. Brian will be greatly missed, and his spirit will continue to shine within the memories of everyone he loved.

Brian is also survived by his mother Judy Kleven and her special friend Dan Coday, brother Matthew Kleven, sisters Lisa DuFrane and Missy Struxness (Dan), and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his dad James Kleven, brother-in-law Chris DuFrane, cousin Jennifer Loehr, God parents Jim and Audry Loehr, God parent Bob Thompson, uncle Rod Thompson and both sets of grandparents.
