Brendan Barry McNellis Obituary

Elmore - 60, passed away after a long battle with multiple cancers. Brendan celebrated 10 years of continuous sobriety last fall and was grateful to AA and the support and fellowship he received. During Brendan's recovery, his spirituality deepened and sustained him and he was grateful and proud to die a peaceful, sober member of his community. Brendan was well known for his huge loving heart and his loyalty to friends and family. He kept his sense of humor during this long battle and he showed dignity and grace throughout. Brendan spent the last 28 years of his life in Elmore, MN with his wife Raquel.

Brendan is survived by his wife, Raquel, children Jumoke and Nikia, many stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his siblings, Rev. Paul McNellis, S.J., Terry (Crystal) McNellis, Kathleen Ozment, Maura (Bill) Kubat, Bridget (Dan) Javes, Sean McNellis, Norah McNellis, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and longtime friends. On March 7th there will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth MN followed by a luncheon. There will be a celebration of life on March 7 beginning at 4:30 at DeGidio's Restaurant in St. Paul. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation for cancer research.
