Beverly Nesler Grossman
Beverly Nesler Grossman Obituary
Mpls - A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Beverly Nesler Grossman passed away March 11, 2026 at the age of 93. A woman of extraordinary beauty, strength, and grace, she lived a full life as a force of nature — unyielding, loving, and unforgettable.
Born in 1933, Beverly came from humble beginnings and spent her younger years on the family farm in Eyota, Minnesota, one of nine children born to Otto and Elizabeth Nesler. She grew up in an environment requiring hard work, resourcefulness, and strength of character. Those early years shaped her in lasting ways, giving her a deep appreciation for life's everyday moments as well as a sharp wit.
As a young adult Beverly moved to Minneapolis and built a life she cherished. She married Morris Chalfen in 1961 and they loved traveling the world together with their celebrated show Holiday on Ice. Along with their two sons Richard and John, their world travels exposed the family to much of the globe and its wide array of experiences and cultures. Late in life, Beverly found love again and married Bud Grossman in 1992, enjoying many happy years together.
It has often been said that to know Beverly was to love Beverly, a dear and thoughtful friend to so many. She had a way of making everyone she met feel special.
She was also known for her deep appreciation of the arts and all things beautiful. Throughout her life Beverly brought both professional expertise and deep compassion to many organizations, serving as a devoted member on the boards of a wide variety of charities across the arts and social services including Minnesota Orchestra, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Walker Art Center, Children's Theatre Company, and Jewish Family and Children's Service of Minnesota Parent Child+ Program. She was appreciated for her strategic thinking, kind heart, and generosity. Beverly was delighted to serve as a mentor to many among her volunteer ranks.
The family owes a special thank you to Beverly's caregivers for their dedication, comfort, and support in the last years of her life. She is survived by her children, Richard and John Chalfen, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. They invite her many friends and fans to a celebration of her life on Thursday, June 11 from 3-5 PM at the Minneapolis Club. Memorials preferred to Jewish Family and Children's Service of Minnesota Parent Child+ Program, https://www.jfcsmn.org/. 5905 Golden Valley Road Golden Valley, MN 55422.
