Born December 25, 1924, to Oscar and Luella Swanson, she lived a century marked by love and devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of the late William Adam Schmidt Jr., with whom she shared 36 years of marriage. Betty was a devoted mother to Sharon Ann Torkelson (Brian) and William Adam Schmidt III (Lisa), and a proud grandmother to Joshua and Jacob Torkelson, William IV, and Katelyn Schmidt. She treasured her family's history, her Swedish heritage, her beloved dogs, and a good piece of chocolate.
