Mpls - Dols, Bernie On 4/25/25 Bernie, age 90, joined his wife, Beverly, and together they began their "Journey to Forever". Preceded in death by Beverly; grandchildren, Luke and Jessica Johnson and Matthew Dols; parents and siblings. Survived by daughters, Bernadette (Rich) and Elizabeth (Mike); son, Gregory (Laura); grandchildren, Jonathan (Katie), Carlene (Ben), and Melissa; granddaughter-in-law, Natalie; great grandchildren, Logan, Peyton, Emmalyn, Miranda, Oliver, Abel, Livy, and Delaney. Bernie attended St. Anne's Grade School and North High School in Minneapolis. He served in the USMC, 2nd Marine Air Wing, Cherry Point, NC. He attended Dunwoody Institute (presently Dunwoody College of Technology) and worked in the Building Construction Industry as an Architectural Draftsman and then returned to Dunwoody and taught for 30 years as a Drafting and Building Construction Estimating Instructor. He was also a member of the Construction Specifications Institute. Bernie was ordained a deacon in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Diocese in 1987 and served in 5 parishes in the Twin Cities, also as a Volunteer at North Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed being a clown in the Aqua Jesters Clown Club entertaining people in the Minneapolis Aquatennial Parades, summer community celebrations and at children's hospitals. He enjoyed reading, golfing, spectator sports and an occasional trip to a casino. His favorite pastime was doing calligraphy and then matting and framing his work. Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St. NE, Osseo, and 1 hour prior to mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, May 2, 2025, at The Church of St. Gerard Majella, 9600 Regent Ave. N., Brooklyn Park. A luncheon will follow. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
