Died peacefully December 16, 2025

Ben will be dearly missed by:

Wife, Joanne; daughters Jennifer Phelps (Charlie); and Joanne Patterson (Bill); son Thomas Case (Sara); grandchildren Henry and Duncan Phelps; Carolyn, Stuart, and Nicholas Patterson; and Tighe, Oliver, and Sylvia Case; sister Polly Grose; brother Charlie Case (Kay); and his beloved nephews, nieces, in-laws, and cousins.

Preceded in death by parents Benton Janney Case, Sr. and Olive Crosby Case; and sister and brother-in-law CC and Cole Graham.

Ben was a gentle soul who modeled kindness, laughter, loyalty, adventure, and fun, whether to family or friends. He taught us to read, swim, ride bikes, play backgammon and cards, fish, travel, boat, and light fireworks somewhat safely. He taught us to listen to others, pay attention to the world around us, to love our families, and to make time to sit and wonder at nature. Ben loved classic country, big band, and the blues. He was always ready to dance. He was cheerful to the end.
