Newport Beach, CA - Benhart Earl Niemi of Newport Beach, California passed away on October 26th, 2025 after losing his battle with a long term illness. He fought until the very end! Ben was born on January 12th, 1938 to Ben and Ailene Niemi of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduating from North High School in 1956, he attended the University of Minnesota graduating in 1960 with a degree in Sociology. Upon graduation he was accepted into the General Motors Training Program where he began his long career in the car business. Cars were his passion, surpassed only by his love for his family.

In 1956 his family moved next door to the Nordby Family on Tyler St. in North Minneapolis where he met the love of his life, the girl next door, Sharon Mary Nordby. They were married in 1961and celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on October 14th, 2025. They adopted two children, Jay Allen (58) and Becky Ann (52). He had three grandchildren, Noelle Niemi (27), Autumn Niemi (24), and Lucas Burns (15). He was an exceptionally kind and loving grandfather throughout his working and retired life.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his children, Becky and Jay, and his grandchildren Noelle, Autumn, and Lucas. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. His final resting place will be Minneapolis, Minnesota with no official services planned.
