Arthur Sehlin Obituary

Sehlin, Arthur "Jack" age 94, passed away peacefully March 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, strength, and love. For 72 years, he was the loving husband of Zana, with whom he built a life full of love and partnership. Together, they raised their daughters, Tammy (Magney) and Peggy (Stefan), who will forever cherish his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support. A civil engineer and contractor by profession, he was a master builder of bridges, tunnels and dams - not just of infrastructure, but of communities and connections. His passion for his work was matched only by his devotion to making the places he lived better for all. A man of remarkable intellect and resilience, he thrived on solving problems - no challenge was too great. Though strong on the outside, he had a deeply sensitive and gentle soul, always putting his family and community first. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his impact will endure in the lives he touched and the world he helped build. Art is survived by his wife Zana, daughters Tammy Magney (Mark) and Peggy Stefan (Scott), grandchildren Troy Magney (Becky Rittenburg), Tyler Stefan (Elle), Mya Magney Parsons (Ross) and Cole Stefan (Piper); seven great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Hunt and brother Dave Sehlin (Jody). A memorial service is tentatively planned for July 2025. Memorials may be directed to Engineers Without Borders-UMN at the University of MN Foundation.
