Eden Prairie, MN - Arthur Thomas Pedersen, 88, passed away on October 1, 2025.

Art was born in Chicago, IL in 1937 to John and Ane Pedersen, Norwegian immigrants who arrived in the 1920s. Devoted to the care of others, he was a physician specializing in allergy and internal medicine. He met his future wife, Mary Duncan, in Michigan during his medical residency, and they married on February 7, 1970.

Art and Mary moved to Houston, Texas, where they spent 43 years and where their two sons were born and raised. He was an allergist at the Diagnostic Clinic for 30 years. In 2013 he and Mary moved to the Minneapolis area to be near their first grandchildren, where they were members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka. Art was an avid learner throughout his life, and particularly loved biographies of historical figures. He also loved nature and birding.

Art is survived by his wife, Mary; sons John (Laura) and Eric (Lisa); and granddaughters Anna-Sofia, Sunniva, Catherine, and Sarah.

Memorial service plans will be announced at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Nature Conservancy.
