Chanhassen, Minnesota - Anne Ritzenthaler Hawkins passed away peacefully on January 3rd at the age of 84 in Edina, MN. Anne was born on October 6, 1940, in Reedsburg WI to Ansel and Geraldine Ritzenthaler. The family moved to Springfield, MN to take over the family business, Bockman Jewelers. After graduating from high school in Springfield MN, Anne earned a BA in Music at Hamline University (1962).Anne and Dick Hawkins married in June of 1963 and raised four daughters: Pegi (Tony), Ginna (Mark), Betsy (David), and Katy (Peter) in Eden Prairie, MN. Anne founded a home business, Anne Hawkins Enterprises, where she created knitwear and custom Christmas stockings. Later, Anne worked as an account receivable clerk at MTS Systems. Anne held a variety of volunteer and leadership positions including La Leche League Chapter President, CampFire Leader, school/band volunteer, and election judge, and was active in her church. During her retirement in Waconia MN, she spent her days indulging in her hobbies, and spending time with her eight grandchildren: Bryce, Alec, Robyn (Dellanta), Brenna, Natan, Max, Esther, and Aviela and great-grandchild Lakaii. If you selected one word to describe Anne, it would be "music". Anne shared her talent by singing in the church choir, Minnetonka Association of Music, Voices of Experience with the Minnesota Chorale and many community choirs. All her life, Anne celebrated her faith, and relationships with her family and friends through her music and songs.
