Angie Lyn Casavant Obituary
Eagan, MN - Angie Lyn Casavant of Eagan, Minn., passed away on July 27, 2025, at home with her husband Brent Casavant and sister Mindy Bloom at her side. She was not taken, but was instead shared generously with us for 48 years before arriving safely home, rejoicing and dancing before the Lord.
Born Oct. 25, 1976, in Fargo, N.D. to Roy and Marvyl Strassberg, Angie arrived just moments after her twin sister and lifelong best friend Mindy. Growing up, the girls were inseparable, always keen for excitement and creating their own fun — continuing their adventures throughout adulthood.
Angie's childhood experience with leukemia inspired her to become a nurse. After earning a B.S. in Nursing from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., she spent most of her career at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn. She found fulfillment as a registered nurse in caring for patients and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Angie eagerly enjoyed all life had to offer, including family and friends, travel, dancing, and every fun-filled experience she could find. She brightened every room — lavishing her laugh, smile, and hugs on everyone around her. Her joy was multiplied when she found the love of her life, Brent, while swing dancing. The two were married on May 23, 2014, in Chaska, Minn., growing in love for one another and thriving in both the challenges and thrills of life.
Angie's faith in Christ formed the center of her adult life. She strived to put her faith into practice through love, generosity, boldness, prayer, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. She found great comfort in her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:6-7, particularly in her last year as she courageously faced neuroendocrine cancer.
Angie is survived by her husband Brent Casavant, mother Marvyl Strassberg of Chandler, Ariz., sister and brother-in-law Mindy and Jarod Bloom of Acton, Mass., beloved niece Diana Bloom, and extended family, friends, and innumerable others whose life she blessed at every opportunity. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Strassberg, grandparents Fred and Petra Strassberg and Kenny and Dorothy Halvorson, and uncles Donald and Roland Strassberg.
Angie's celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 9, 2025 at Hometown Church, 2300 East 88th Street, Bloomington, MN 55425. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
