Mpls, MN - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Dr. Andrew Wilson Bachman, loving father, husband, brother, and son, from natural causes at home on June 26, 2026, at age 51. Andrew was born on March 7, 1975, to Lee Bachman and Bonnie Wachter Swenby in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Andrew, an Eagle Scout, graduated from Washburn High School with Highest Honors. He received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College, where he continued his passion for soccer, and graduated magna cum laude. He received his MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Andy completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was a Chief Resident and met his wife, Katherine. They both worked as ER physicians at Methodist Hospital. He was the co-founder and CEO of LeafLine Labs, one of two medical cannabis dispensaries in Minnesota, and was honored to have been able to help relieve pain and improve seizures for many people.

Andy will be remembered for his deep and steadfast love for his sons, zeal for soccer, dad jokes, and encyclopedic knowledge of 80s music. He could recognize a tune from the first three notes. He was also known for his love of Minneapolis, proficiency in hunting for agates, enthusiasm for Top Gun, unwavering patience with puzzles, appreciation of handsome shoes, and ability to hit all the green lights beyond statistical probability. His children and dog will remember his love for walks together around Lake Harriet and will always know that when he said, "You've had enough treats," he didn't really mean it.

Andrew is survived by his wife Katherine, his sons William and David, his brothers Mark (Carrie) and Jonathan, his father Lee Bachman (Silvia), mother Bonnie Wachter Swenby, and stepfather Ralph Swenby. He will also be remembered and missed by a wide circle of lifelong friends, locally and around the world.
