Minneota - age 81, of Minneota, MN, died February 22, 2026. Allan was born on April 15, 1944, in Minneota to Jens Ludwig Dovre and Orieanna (Orie) Theressa (Severson) Dovre. He graduated from Minneota High School in 1962 and from South Dakota State University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy.

In 1966, Allan was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam. On September 28, 1968, he married Rita Willgohs at Hope Lutheran Church, Minneota, MN, and began farming. Allan enjoyed caring for his neighbors and for the communities to which he belonged. His definition of "neighbor" was expansive.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Cheryl. He is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughter, Sara (Mahadev), of Saint Paul; his son, David (Paula), of Minneota; four grandchildren: Aditya, Ila, Autumn, and Dawson; and his sister Janice (Ron) Nelson of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and extended family.

Allan's funeral will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 113 S. Jefferson St., Minneota, MN 56264. Memorials can be sent to Minneota Public School, c/o Dovre Donation–Fine Arts, 504 N. Monroe St., Minneota, MN 56264.
