Alice Marie Ellison Obituary

Brooklyn Park, Minnesota - Alice Marie Ellison passed away peacefully at her home in Brooklyn Park Minnesota on Friday September 5, 2025 at the remarkable age of 100. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Mary Louise Martzahn, her brother John and her sister Kathleen.

She leaves behind a magnificent legacy through her children: David (MD) and his wife Joan, Robert (EdD) and his wife Judy, Dawn (MD) and her husband James, and Paul (PhD) and his wife Jennifer. Her love extended to nine grandchildren: Zachary, Amber, Laurel, Brett, Jessica, Aubrey, Tyler, Graham and Becca; sixteen great grandchildren: Alexa, Aleah, Kieran, Jasper, Elias, Ruby, Jerah, Caius, Levi, Tobias, Ellie, Alma, Everette, Alaura, Sadie, and Rona; and two great, great grandchildren: Cayden and Carson.

A celebration of Alice's life will be held at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, 7200 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, MN at 3 P.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The service will be streamed at www.bumc.umcchurches.org with a link to Alice Ellison memorial.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Home Free/Missions Inc, a shelter for women and children in Plymouth, MN (www.missionsinc.org/donate) or the Pelican Rapids Multicultural Committee which works to bring diverse peoples together through music, art, food and conversation (www.pr-mcc.org/give). Both of these organizations reflect Alice's lifelong commitment to helping those in need and building community.

Alice Marie Ellison lived a life of purpose, leaving the world immeasurably better than she found it. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
