Maple Grove, MN - With Great Sadness we mourn the passing of our Father Alan Reid Udeen. A gentle man with a heart of gold. A man who touched the lives of many. A pioneer in Country Music. Described by many as a Legend in the Minneapolis music scene. Born in Minneapolis to Axel R Udeen and Janet Udeen. Al grew up on Portland Ave. He had a passion for cars as a kid. And at one point owning a George Barris custom. In the 1950's he learned the Pedal Steel Guitar. He played for Buck Ownes and was a regular at the Flame Cafe. By the 1970's he was teaching Pedal Steel Guitar. Many lessons were taught at Suneson's Music. He was National Sales Director for Gretsch-Sho Bud. In 1969 He married his wife Suzanne and had 2 boys. He is proceeded by death by his parents Axel and Janet. Brother Reid. Sisters Joyce (Janet) And Fran. Son Micheal Udeen.
Survived by Wife Suzanne. Sons Scott, Jason (Dawn), Chad (Nicole). Daughter Lisa. Grandchildren Colten, Everleigh, Elizabeth and Timothy. A celebration of life is being planned. Big Al was the original "Steelman" Also nicknamed" "Homer"
