Alan Schilla Obituary

Blaine - Alan "Sandman" Schilla, age 69, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, JerryAnn Caroline Schilla and Edward Matthew Schilla, and his brothers, Herb and Budd Schilla. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Schilla; daughter, Katy Schilla; son, Nate Schilla; grandson, Colton Wolney; brothers, Tim and Rick Schilla; sister, Peggy Schilla-Ayer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family.

Alan was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in nature—whether he was fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty around him. He had a deep love for his family and was known for his warmth, humor, and the many life lessons he shared. A natural teacher, Alan touched the lives of those around him through his kindness, wisdom, and steady presence.

His legacy of generosity and compassion continues through the selfless act of organ donation, giving others the gift of life—one final act that perfectly reflects the heart of who he was.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at Pier B Resort Hotel in Duluth, Minnesota.

Family and friends are invited to share memories, laughter, and love as we honor a remarkable man whose spirit will live on in all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Life Source https://www.life-source.org/giving/.
