St. Paul - It has been three years since Alan "Al" Novak left this world, yet his smile, laughter, and strength continue to live on in the hearts of his family. Al passed away suddenly on March 1st, 2023, in St. Paul, MN, finding peace.

Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Al grew up finding joy in music, athletic pursuits and surrounded by family and friends.

He obtained a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and applied his knowledge to a successful career that included many years in sales at Emerson Process Management in Shakopee, Minnesota. He was also active in local government, serving on the Credit River Township board.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Shirley and his brother William, and survived by his children Ian (Nicole), Alex and Anna and their mother Connie, brothers Brian (Julaine) and Kevin (Cheryl), and many nieces and nephews.

Al took great pride in his family, and he worked hard trying to create a fulfilling environment for his three children, Ian, Alex and Anna. Family vacations, helping the scout troop and especially his boys in earning their Eagle Rank, and his efforts to create fun filled days at their lake cabin speak to his love of family. We will always remember those days spent water skiing, on the pontoon, and just hanging out.

Though time has passed, Al's legacy remains - in the lessons taught, the honors earned, the laughter he shared, and the love that, as time passes, we continue to understand and appreciate.
