Richfield, MN - Adrienne (Agababian) Hayes, 88, passed away peacefully in Richfield, MN surrounded by family on Sept 28, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, NY to Vahram and Askanoush Agababian (née Markarian). Adrienne is survived by four beloved children: Jacqueline, Bryan, Doug, and Michelle; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild all of whom she greatly adored. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Ralph Hayes and sister Angele Khanzadian of Syracuse, NY.
Adrienne had a Master's degree in counseling from Syracuse University and dedicated her life to supporting students in her leadership roles at the Southwest MN State University's Women's Resource Center, Non-Traditional Student Center, and the International Student Centers at both Southwest MN State University and Metro State University. Exceptionally gifted as a counselor, she skillfully guided hundreds of students in navigating their life paths.
Adrienne had a gift for putting people at ease, warmly inviting others into friendly conversation adding richness to all those around her. A first generation Armenian, she was proud of her heritage and both embraced and reinvented traditions throughout her life. Adrienne's legacy of empathy and embrace endures in everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.
