Holbrook William Irving, age 77, of Mpls died from lung cancer on Thursday at home. Born May 26, 1925, he is survived by his wife Jane and three children, David, Susan, and Drew; grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Grace, and Sophie and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Cosette Drew and Franklin Fisk; brother, Drew; sisters, Harriet and Marion. Bill attended Marshall High School, was a WWII veteran, 1948 graduate of U of M Law, owner and operator of Americans Abroad Travel. He was active in local and national politics, a 23 year member of Mpls Park Board and volunteered with American Youth Hostels, Aliveness Project, AIDS Memorial Quilt. Upon retirement, he had many personal interests and was an avid cyclist, participating in the Ironman, AIDS Ride and RAGBRAI events. In lieu of flowers,memorials preferred to St Luke's Episcopal Church or to the donor's choice. Services 4 pm Monday, St Luke's, 46th and Colfax Ave. S, Mpls.
