Schmolke Viola Magdalene Schmolke, age 76, of Crosslake, died January 20 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by devoted husband of 50 years, Celestine; loving children, Linda (Michael) Soukup, Laura (Frank) Ringsmuth, Ronald (Becky) Schmolke, Rita (Tom) Savoy, David (Julie) Schmolke, Nancy (Jason) Martinez, Donna Ramsey; grandchildren, Catlin, April, Angie, Erik, Christy, Emily, Nick, Maggie, Matt, Jake, Zak, Tony, Betsey, Dan, Hannah, Bailey, Ben, Max and Elida. Also survived by sisters, Miriam Welken, Lillian Hilde and Doris Fugere; and brother, Lloyd Nelson. Viola's family extends deep appreciation to Dr. Stephen Mann and staff of the Hubert Humphrey Cancer Center and Jill, Holly and Laura of Allina Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5051 Eden Ave S., Edina.
