Thornton Verna (Pearson), age 92, of SE Mpls and summer resident of Lake Carlos, MN passed away 10/29/02. Verna was born, lived and passed away in the home her father built. She was employed by Western Union for 46 years. She was preceded in death by parents, Mathilda & Andrew Pearson; husband, Lawrence Thornton; brothers, Paul and Carl Pearson; sister, Annette Pearson; and niece, Betty Kensinger. Survived by nephews, Donald (Maxine) of Mpls, Jack (Cherie) of Cincinnati, OH; niece, Diane (David) Connor of San Rafael, CA; also 3 grand nieces, 1 grand nephew; cousins and many dear friends. Member of Mt Olivet Lutheran Church and formerly Grace Lutheran University Church. Also member of the American Swedish Institute. If desired memorials might be directed to the Grace Lutheran University Church and the ASI. A special thanks to Pam and Hawah for their generous and loving caregiving.
