Sams Steven DeWayne Sams died at home in Sierra Vista, Arizona of brain cancer on April 5, 2003. He was 59. Steven was the third child born to Amie and Alvin Sams in Bloomington, Minnesota. He attended Bloomington High School, then formed "Sams Masonry". He was a contractor specializing in masonry until his final years. Survivors include: one daughter, Monica Sams Oder, of Temecula, California. He had three sons; Shane Sams, Wade Sams and Jeff Deane, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He had three brothers; Dan Sams, of Cromwell, Minnesota, Walter Sams, of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Fred Sams, of Chacon, New Mexico. He also had a sister Donnamae Sams Williams, of Kiowa, Kansas and a grandson Devon Sams. Memorial Services will be held at Bloomington Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2003.
