Sidney Lippman Obituary

Lippman Sidney, age 89, song writer from Mpls, died March 11. Mr. Lippman wrote songs for Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Benny Goodman, among others. His biggest hit came in 1951, Nat King Cole's version of "Too Young. The song co-written with Silvia Dee, was no. 1 on the "Hit Parade" for 21 weeks. Mr. Lippman wrote the Minnesota Centennial song amongst many other songs and musical scores. He was a New Jersey resident, active in the community, contributing 42 years of volunteer work for the Bedside Network, a nationwide organization that works exclusively in veterans hospitals. Survivors include, Harry Lippman and Cathie Lippman of Los Angeles, Henry Lippman and Arlene Campion of the Twin Cities. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New Jersey. Memorials preferred to the E.S. Lippman Fund at Mpls Children's Hospital.
