Smutka Ruth Hofstrom, age 81, res. Mpls., died peacefully surrounded by her family on March 11 from complications of a stroke. Preceded in death by first husband, George Hofstrom. Survived by husband, Everett (Sam) Smutka; daughters, Karen (Shawn) McBride and Mary (Steve) Schmalz; son, Bob (Gail) Hofstrom; Everett's sons, Michael (Jackie), Robert (Peggy) and Mark; grandchildren, Charlie, Emily, Cori, Drew; sisters, Ramona and Jean.
