Campbell, Ruth Adele (Ingalls, York) Born on May 28, 1918; died on August 25, 2008. Raised in So Mpls; Central High School 1936 graduate; that same year married Howard York & they raised 3 children in St. Louis Park. They were a staple on 44th & Beard in SW Mpls for 28 yrs at Westgate Cleaners & Laundromat until Howard died in 1978. Ruth returned to school in 1965, & was employed as a beautician in the 50th & France area of Edina. Reunited with childhood friend, Dr. Lorne Campbell; they wed in 1981 & retired to Lorne's home, in Clear Lake, WI; traveling the country & the world, enjoying golf, bowling, playing cards, church activities & all the wonderful neighbors & friends that Clear Lake had to offer. She fondly recalled her hole-in-one in May of 1995 & never hesitated to wear her Viking Purple in the midst of all that Packer Green. She lived in Clear Lake after her 2nd husband's death in 1991, until 2005, when she moved to Mtka, near her children. Enjoying every moment of life; she lived by the motto, "A Woman's Place Is Everywhere." Along with 2 husbands, she was preceded by cherished daughter, Jeanne Plehal; grandchildren, Robert Bolling & Elizabeth Plehal; great-granddaughter, Jenna Rand; brother, WWII vet William Ingalls. Survived by 2 children & her ever present & willing sons-in-law & their families: Don York, East Bethel; Bonnie & Bob Quinn, Hopkins; Al Plehal, Mtka; grandchildren & their spouses: Sue Rand, Mtka; Teresa Windsperger, Mtka; Mike & Kim Plehal, Plymouth; Joe & Sara Plehal, Excelsior; Noel York, Crystal; Erika & Paul Coombs, Virginia, MN; Chuck York & Michelle Peterson, East Bethel; Gen Bolling, Mpls; Natalie Bolling, Mpls. great-grandchildren: Jessica (& Plamen) Hristov, Joshua Rand, Tyler & Lauren Adams-Plehal, Rachel & AJ Plehal, Maxwell & Lillian Windsperger, Taylor & Sydney York, Jacob Coombes; stepsons: Lorne Campbell, Jr., AK; Craig Campbell, CA; sister- in-law: Bea Ingalls, Mpls; good friend, traveling, bowling, golfing & card playing partner: Dr. Ken Johnson, River Falls, WI. The family is grateful to the staff at Elder Homestead in Mtka & Allina Hospice Services. Memorials preferred to St. John's Catholic Church, 811 4th Street, Clear Lake, WI 54005. Mass of Christian Burial 2:00 pm Friday, August 29 at St John's Catholic Church, Clear Lake. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment at Clear Lake Cemetery.
