Rose Gail Levin Obituary

Levin Rose Gail, of Maryland. Preceded in death by parents, Bessie Levin & Rabbi Solomon I. Levin, who was dean of the Orthodox community in Mpls. Rose passed away Thursday, March 20 in Chevy Chase, MD. Survived by sister, Belle Rosenberg of NY; brother, Bernard Lawrence of CA; and sister & brother-in-law, Esther & Rabbi Tzvi Porath. A graduate of the Mpls Talmud Torah, she also attended the U of M and worked as a librarian at the Emanuel Cohen Center. She was a most devoted daughter to her parents, and was a familiar figure as her father's driver and secretary. She took care of her parents without any outside help until their passing. Rose moved to Chevy Chase at Brighton Gardens in 1994 to be near her sister, Esther, wife of Rabbi Tzvi Porath. She had a most warm personality, beloved by all who knew her, they enjoyed her walking around, singing Hebrew songs. Funeral services SUNDAY, 2:30 PM, MPLS JEWISH CEMETERY CHAPEL, 70 1/2 & Penn Ave S. Services will be conducted by her nephew, Rabbi Jonathan Porath of Israel and her brother-in-law, Rabbi Tzvi Porath of Chevy Chase, MD. Memorials are preferred to the United Jewish Appeal for Israel of your local comm. Shiva will be at the home of Esther Porath in Chevy Chase, MD, Mon. through Thurs. Arr. Hodroff & Sons
