Shimek Ronald J., age 63 of Prior Lake, died on Thanksgiving day with his family present after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Ron was loved by all. Ron was co-founder of Heat-N-Glo Fireplaces. Survived by loving wife, Patricia; sons, John (Jody), Chris (Kristin), Tim (Renee), Tony (Jennifer), Andrew; and daughter, Becky (Jeff) Hanel; 16 grandchildren; mother, Laura Shimek; sisters, Sue (Dick) Defore, Rosemary Moore, Carol (Al) Lenhardt; brothers, Dan (Kay) Shimek, Steve (Lee) Shimek, Gerry (Ann) Shimek. Preceded in death by father, George Shimek. Visitation Sunday, 4-7 PM and also Monday from 10-11 AM, all at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 West 125th St., Savage. Mass of Christian burial Monday, 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery, Savage.
